Dr Veronica Centorrino Wins Prestigious Award for Thesis in Electric Power Systems

Dr Veronica Centorrino, now a postdoctoral researcher at the Automatic Control Laboratory (IfA), has received the “Best PhD Award 2025” from the European Embedded Control Institute (EECI).

The European Embedded Control Institute (EECI), a multinational and multidisciplinary research and education platform founded in 2006, has honoured Dr Veronica Centorrino for her dissertation entitled external page “Contracting Dynamics for Biologically Plausible Neural Networks and Optimization”. Veronica Centorrino, who successfully defended her dissertation at the Scuola Superiore Meridionale in Naples, Italy, in January 2025, joined D-ITET in September 2025. Since then, she has been working in Professor John Lygeros’s group as a postdoctoral researcher at the Automatic Control Laboratory (IfA). Dr Chris Verhoek, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, received the “Best PhD Award 2025” jointly with Veronica Centorrino.
