While Expedition 33 captured the imaginations of countless fans, it was not the only standout title in 2025. This year saw the much-anticipated launch of Hollow Knight: Silksong, alongside fresh releases for the Nintendo Switch 2, including new installments of Mario Kart and Donkey Kong, as well as Hades 2, the sequel to IGN’s 2020 Game of the Year. In the realm of film, notable releases included Superman, Sinners, Weapons, and what many consider the best Predator movie yet—Predator: Badlands.

In every year across various media, discussions often arise over differing opinions from critics and audiences, but this year, we noted an unusual harmony in their views. As part of our annual tradition, we invited our community to vote across numerous award categories, and we’re excited to see that many winners align with your choices, highlighting a mutual appreciation between our team and our audience.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in this year’s community awards. In an impressive 17 out of 23 categories, the winning titles received over 40% of the votes, indicating a widespread agreement on your favorites from 2025. As many predicted, Clair Obscur triumphed across all nine nominated categories, while Andor emerged as a monumental favorite, winning all four of its TV categories. The closest win was for Predator: Badlands, clinching Best Sci-Fi or Fantasy Movie by a mere 1.1% margin over Frankenstein. Conversely, Blue Prince achieved a remarkable victory with over 72% of votes in the Best Puzzle Game category. Thank you once again to everyone who voted, and as we await major upcoming games like GTA 6 and Marvel’s Wolverine, we’re excited to see what 2026 brings.

Throughout the year, we have actively monitored user behavior to foster a positive atmosphere within the IGN community. We consistently remove problematic accounts to enhance the experience for everyone. As the year concludes, we also take this time to evaluate users who may have received leniency to determine if their behavior was a one-time occurrence or a sign of a troubling pattern. In conjunction with celebrating community members who uplift and contribute positively, we’ve also removed individuals who have chronically violated our community guidelines through hate speech, harassment, or other harmful actions. While these decisions may sometimes be unpopular, they are essential for our commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment at IGN.

As we continue to cultivate our community, we will keep a close eye on and address any troubling behavior, ensuring that IGN remains an engaging and inclusive space for all. By working together, we can create a community that is respectful, supportive, and enjoyable for everyone.
